bring back to life - the upgrade of my ipod

i tried to upgrade my ipod touch to version 1.1.2 and after downloading around 150 Mb of the new software my ipod went into restore mode. On clicking restore it kept giving ipod restore error (1604).

Dont know the reason for it and then it kept going into this restore error. i tried many times to get it back to life but it just refused.

then i came across this post at apple support and it worked... phew !!!

i needed to delete the upgrade directory from itunes. so anyone getting the same error ..try this and it works.

C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates

and it came back to life.
